Our Team

Heather Gilligan, LCSW, PMH-C

Clinical Director/Practice Owner

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the Clinical Director of Reflections Therapy. I earned my Master of Social Work (MSW) from Stony Brook University and have been working in the mental health field since 2015, bringing over a decade of experience to my work with clients.

I’m passionate about helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, and major life transitions that can lead to feeling disconnected from oneself. I strive to work with compassion and care, guiding clients toward meaningful change, healthier habits, and building a life that aligns with their goals and values.

I have a special interest in supporting pregnant and postpartum parents as they adjust to the emotional and practical challenges that come with this significant life stage.

In my work, I draw from evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strengths-based techniques, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process past trauma and move forward with confidence.

Jacklyn Cimino, LCSW

Therapist

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I understand how daunting and intimidating the process of finding a therapist can be. My goal is to create a non-judgmental, comforting space where you can feel safe and supported—especially during vulnerable moments.

I believe that everyone possesses inherent strength and resilience, and I work collaboratively with my clients to tap into those qualities throughout the therapeutic process. Together, we’ll explore the connections between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and identify alternative coping strategies to better manage the challenges you’re facing.

I’m especially passionate about working with adolescents and young adults who may be navigating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and the stressors of everyday life. My approach is personalized and flexible, integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, strengths-based therapy, and EMDR, depending on your unique needs and preferences.

Seeking help is a difficult first step, and I deeply respect anyone who chooses to take it. I look forward to working collaboratively with you to identify the most meaningful ways to support your journey forward. Whatever challenges you’re facing, I’m here to face them with you.

My experience has primarily focused on supporting individuals through major life transitions. This includes working with first-generation college students, individuals healing from trauma, those dating after abuse and seeking to prevent revictimization, managing stress during high-conflict divorce and custody proceedings, and guiding parents working to break intergenerational cycles of trauma and build secure attachments with their children. I have helped clients navigate these challenges while managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and PTSD.

I bring a blended educational background in Psychology and Social Work, allowing me to consider how a person’s experiences, environment, and stressors shape their mental health.

My approach is eclectic, person-centered, trauma-informed, and relational. I ground my work in psychodynamic and attachment-based theory, while also integrating solution-focused techniques, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing, and harm reduction strategies when appropriate.

My experience has exposed me to a wide range of clinical concerns and client stories, and I bring that depth into each session. I look forward to growing and adapting together, as we work toward your goals.

No one is exempt from the struggles and challenges that come with living life. Even when someone else’s life may appear perfect—or at least better than our own—everyone is navigating their own battles beneath the surface.

As a therapist, my goal is to support clients as they face life’s challenges. I take a strengths-based, person-centered approach and walk alongside each individual on their journey of self-discovery, helping them work toward their unique therapy goals. Whether those goals involve making behavioral or emotional changes, or learning to reframe responses to the things we cannot control, I believe we all possess inner strengths that can help us move forward and find peace amidst the chaos.

In addition to strengths-based and person-centered therapy, I incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing to support lasting, meaningful change.

I’m especially passionate about working with adults dealing with depression, anxiety, and everyday life stressors, and I have a particular interest in helping clients navigate life transitions such as aging, illness, caregiving responsibilities, and changes in relationship status.
